Training and Certifications

The Tahoe Douglas Fire District uses instructors and the curriculum set forth by the California Fire Service Training and Education System (CFSTES) to teach the classes required for certificates.

CFSTES has 11 categories of certification courses: 1) Driver/Operator, 2) EMS, 3) Fire Command, 4) Firefighter, 5) Fire Instructor, 6) Fire Investigation, 7) Fire Management, 8) Fire Mechanic, 9) Fire Prevention, 10) Hazardous Materials, 11) Public Education. Nevada Firefighter I *Required for all personnel*

Nevada Firefighter II *Required for all personnel*

ICS-300 (Intermediate ICS)

Management 2A (Organizational Development & Human Resources)

Management 2B (Fire Service Financial Management)

Management 2C (Personnel & Labor Relations)

Management 2D (Master Planning)

Management 2E (Contemporary Issues & Concepts)

Command 2A (Command Tactics at Major Fires)

Command 2B (Management of Major Haz Mat Incidents)

Command 2C (High Rise Fire Tactics)

Command 2D (Planning for Large Scale Disasters)

Command 2E (Wildland Firefighting Tactics)

WILDLAND FIREFIGHTING COURSES

*Required by Company Officers to respond on Strike Teams*

S-215 (Fire Operations in Urban Interface).  **This class replaces S-205**

and/or Fire Command 1C can be a bridge for S-205 or S-215

S-336 (Fire Suppression Tactics)
